We formed Writers 4 Management to meet the demand for good writing in business. Our background in business journalism gives us the specialist skills and understanding to help people in organisations of all sorts to express themselves clearly and concisely in their communications.

Laura was editor of weekly business magazines, in the engineering/technology, financial services and marketing sectors, through the 1980s and continued as a regular weekly columnist on Marketing magazine until 2004. She has since written on different business topics across a range of titles. Other activities include producing management reports for the Economist Intelligence Unit and copywriting for companies like Costain, IBM and Microsoft, as well as acting as ghost writer/editor for a number of senior business executives and organisations including IMD in Geneva and the Marketing Society. She was a project director with the Conference Board Europe for two Councils over six years: the European Council on Marketing, which involved running three meetings a year with senior European marketing directors on topical marketing issues, and the Futures Council, which brought together corporate strategists from around Europe.
Louella cut her teeth on journalism with the Consumers’ Association before joining Marketing magazine, where she was managing editor until the early 1990s. She has since written for and edited titles in the marketing, design, market research and sponsorship arenas, including a number of management reports. Other activities include copywriting for companies like Business in the Community, Aegis and Starcom Mediavest and ghost writing for senior business leaders. She was a consultant to the Football League, advising on business training for commercial managers, and advisor to the Bordeaux Wine Growers Association on marketing strategy. More recently she and Laura have authored two books for John Wiley, and she produces a bi-monthly publication and six-monthly journal for the Association for Qualitative Research.
